In the 1970s, Dupont began producing pens at the request of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who asked for a ballpoint pen to match her Dupont lighter. This led to the creation of the Dupont Classique, designed by Jean Malamoud. Due to its lacquered metal body, the pen is heavier than average. It comes with the original converter and case, along with a one-year warranty.
