The pen was purchased in Fiume (Rijeka) in August 1964 (this date was written in pencil on the inside wall of the case). The telescopic suction mechanism of the fountain pen works perfectly, but does not click.

With the exception of the 1992 “Hemingway” first edition, all Writers Edition pens are released in limited numbers. This Montblanc Masterpiece L139 fountain pen lay in a drawer for nearly 50 years, its cap bearing the legend of the tears shed by its previous owner's wife after her husband's death. The tear has dried, and I have completely restored the pen, inside and out. The piston has been replaced. There are no cracks or scratches on it. It is suitable for everyday use.

The Montblanc Princesse Grace de Monaco fountain pen, released in 2011 as a limited edition, is crafted from deep purple precious resin with champagne gold-plated accents. A luxurious pink topaz set in the clip completes the feminine necklace-inspired design. Both the cap and barrel rings feature an intricately engraved lozenge pattern inspired by the coat of arms of the Principality of Monaco. The pen is in like-new condition.

The Montblanc Agatha Christie Vermeil fountain pen, released in 1993 as part of Montblanc’s Writers Edition, pays homage to the legendary mystery novelist.
