Vintage pens – quality and guarantee

The Platinum 3776 Urushi Maki-e shown in the picture is a hand-painted fountain pen with a poppy motif, made in 2012. The Montblanc Agatha Christie Vermeil fountain pen, released in 1993 as part of Montblanc’s Writers Edition, pays homage to the legendary mystery novelist. Its design evokes the intrigue of her stories, featuring a vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) cap and barrel engraved with intricate patterns. The snake-shaped clip, with black eyes, symbolizes suspense and danger. Fitted with an 18k gold nib, it combines literary legacy with timeless craftsmanship.

The Montblanc Princesse Grace de Monaco fountain pen, released in 2011 as a limited edition, is crafted from deep purple precious resin with champagne gold-plated accents. A luxurious pink topaz set in the clip completes the feminine necklace-inspired design. Both the cap and barrel rings feature an intricately engraved lozenge pattern inspired by the coat of arms of the Principality of Monaco. The pen is in like-new condition.

In terms of material and appearance, this is a truly high-end fountain pen, offering the user a sense of prestige. Unfortunately, high status is not included with the pen (if not already possessed), but its aura may help establish it. And if high status is already present, this fountain pen will represent it with dignity. Weighing 54 grams, it holds the record among all my pens so far.

This Montblanc Masterpiece L139 fountain pen lay in a drawer for nearly 50 years, its cap bearing the legend of the tears shed by its previous owner's wife after her husband's death. The tear has dried, and I have completely restored the pen, inside and out. The piston has been replaced. There are no cracks or scratches on it. It is suitable for everyday use.

The S.T. Dupont Fidelio is a stylish pen, a classically elegant writing instrument and a perfect accessory for discerning gentlemen and ladies. The pen has never been used and is in like-new condition. It was purchased in 2001 and is offered for sale with its original papers and case, along with a one-year warranty.

The Writers Edition is one of Montblanc's most famous limited-edition writing instrument series, featuring 18,000 numbered pens. Each year, Montblanc selects a renowned writer to honor for their contribution to literature. With the exception of the 1992 “Hemingway” first edition, all Writers Edition pens are released in limited numbers. This not only makes them destined for long-term value appreciation, but also increasingly popular among collectors. The pen comes with a case.

In the 1970s, Dupont began producing pens at the request of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who asked for a ballpoint pen to match her Dupont lighter. This led to the creation of the Dupont Classique, designed by Jean Malamoud. Due to its lacquered metal body, the pen is heavier than average. The Caran d'Ache Madison rollerball pen, model number 0572.382 (as shown on the case), is made of a silver-palladium alloy. It is in flawless, unused condition. The 2011 Van Gogh collection is made of natural resin. Its colours are uniquely blended, inspired by the colours of the oil paints used by Van Gogh. The cap is magnetic, the converter Dupont. Everyday working model, in new condition, with one year guarantee.

Cross Century is one of the best-known and longest-produced writing instrument series, first introduced in the United States in the late 1940s. The classic, slim-shaped pen is manufactured in Ireland in a Cross Century Sterling Silver version with a 14-carat nib and can be used with a converter or cartridge.

The Esterbrook Dollar series was manufactured between 1934 and 1942 at the company's New Jersey plant. This early piece is still made of hard rubber, and its 2442 Falcon stub nib is also rare. The pen is in mint condition, its rubber sac is new, and it is sold with an Esterbrook case and a one-year warranty.

The Lamy Dialog 3 is a unique, premium-quality German fountain pen. It features a unique twist mechanism: the gold nib slides gently out of the body, then retracts after use and automatically closes with a small door that prevents it from drying out. Its minimalist, elegant form and comfortable grip reflect the Bauhaus tradition. Brand new.

Sheaffer began manufacturing this classic pen in 1920, with minor modifications until the 1930s. In 1926, it began numbering the nibs (as shown here), and after 1927, it no longer marked the PAT dates on the pens (which can still be seen here).
